NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Justin Herbert Explains Why He Is Not on Twitter
On today's Pardon My Take, it is officially the first full week without any football to talk about. But don't worry, Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter welcomed on two big time NFL players to today's show. Aaron Donald joined the show for the second time in as many years, and Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert also spent some time with the guys.
The Oregon product and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year discussed his hair, playing for the Ducks, his first year in the league, and the most shocking fact of them all - not being on Twitter:
Mr. Cat: Wait, do you not even have Twitter?
Justin Herbert: No, no Twitter.
Mr. Cat: Damn. Good for you, dude.
Justin Herbert: Thank you.
Mr. Cat: That's more impressive than anything you did on the field this year, would be like, "I don't have Twitter, I'm good without it."
Justin Herbert: Yeah, I mean obviously we don't get as much news, so I kind of find the news elsewhere, but it's been fun, though.
Mr. Commenter: You must be happy all the time, that's a great decision. Don't ever log on, Justin. I want you to stay pure, just the way you are.
Justin Herbert: I'll do that for sure.
Mr. Cat: Yeah, and if you ever need like a couple watchdogs to just keep the streets clean for you, we are willing and able to do that.
Justin Herbert: Well, I appreciate that, that's huge.
Mr. Cat: OK, awesome Justin, really appreciate it.
Justin Herbert: Yup, appreciate you guys, thank you.
Mr. Commenter: Thanks man.
Mr. Cat: Thanks man, seriously, congrats on now being on Twitter, that's fucking sick.
Justin Herbert: Thank you, I mean it's just kind of a negative place sometimes.
Mr. Cat: Yeah, sometimes...
Justin Herbert: Had I read the tweets from you, that probably would have hurt me.
Mr. Cat: Yes, actually, I don't know if I roasted you that bad.
Mr. Commenter: Yeah, I don't think we roasted you that bad for it, but it's a very good decision, not being on Twitter. I secretly envy you.
Mr. Cat: Yeah if I could trade anything, it wouldn't be your bank account, or your rocket arm, it would be the fact that you're not on Twitter.
Justin Herbert: Wow, I like that.
I think Mr. Cat is exactly right. Not being on Twitter in 2021 deserves a prize. I get 99% of my news from this great app, and I imagine a lot of other people do, too. But Justin Herbert has more important things on his mind, like winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and sending the Chargers back to the postseason next year.
