Iowa:  Big things happening in Iowa City.  Fran McCaffery has the Hawkeyes back in the top 10 for the first time since 2002.  Coming off victories against #3 Ohio State on the road and then piss pounding Minnesota at Carver yesterday the Hawks are now #10 in the country.  Pretty unbelievable when I think about it.  It was only a few years ago that that piece of shit Todd Lickliter was running the show and playing his 4 foot son at point guard during games against Big Ten opponents.  Now here we are.  Top 10 team in the country and poised to make a deep run in March.  They’ve got go-to scorers in Roy Devyn Marble and Aaron “The Great White Hope” White and one of the deepest benches in the whole country.  The Hawks play a huge game against #21 Michigan on Wednesday.

Iowa State: Pretty much the opposite of everything I just said about Iowa is going on in Ames.  Struggle city.  Am I loving every second of their struggles?  You betcha.  It’s great.  After climbing all the way to #8 in the country Fred Hoiberg and the Cyclones have dropped three straight games to Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.  They’re now ranked #16 in country.  ISU is basically in a free fall at the moment and their schedule doesn’t get any easier.  Their next four games are all against ranked opponents (#22 Kansas State, #8 Kansas, #25 Oklahoma and #11 Oklahoma State) and 8 of their remaining games are against top 30 opponents.  Brutal brutal brutal.  Good luck fellas.  You’re gonna need it.

PS- I don’t know whose at fault for the Cylcones’ current slide is but the best bet is to always blame Royce White.  Blame him for everything.  He was their game last week so it’s clearly his fault.  Watch on his left hand?  Clean it up.
