'The Challenge: Double Agents' Ep. 9 Recap & Power Rankings - We Got The Best Tease This Season Could Deliver

*Spoilers Obviously Ahead. Again, this is your warning* 

We're going to keep these blogs going. If we can't have No Quitters (RIPIP, send all complaints on Twitter) we're going to have the blog damnit. The Challenge is too damn good of a show to not be talked about. Each Thursday I'll drop one of these recaps and power rankings so we all can argue about America's fifth sport. Maybe I'll convince the other guys from No Quitters to do a chat and we'll post the chat like it's the old podcast.

Fuck it, let's get right into it - TRIVIA WAS RUINED

This isn't even a hot take, even Devin said on our Clubhouse last night that he thought it wasn't great. You can't give true/false questions to these people. Stop giving them an out. It MUST be open ended questions so we get shit like this: 

I don't care if we still got TJ laughing, he will always laugh during trivia. But look at some of the morons we have in this game. Josh, Cory, Fessy, poor Nam just smiles the entire time. We would have gotten some of the worst answers in the history of this game. Instead they were bailed out with true/false. We had someone think wolves were vegetarians. WOLVES! 

This is exactly why we needed open questions. Look at this quote by Cory

We need to get back to trivia the way it used to be. Stop the sabotage game, stop the true/false. Just make them stand there above the water and answer questions. 2 or 3 strikes then drop them. That's how you do the trivia night. 

Darrell won burgers for life, immediately gets pissed at his teammate

We did get the old school Challenge feel when Darrell and Amber B. won Burger King for life. I still miss when they gave out the sidekicks for winning a challenge or my personal favorite - getting NHL on Ice package. Evan fucking loved winning the NHL on Ice package. But back to this. Darrell and Amber B. winning was pretty important to the game because Amber B. was going to get thrown in. She's a rookie, viewed as weak and they would have thrown her in. Instead she flipped everyone and instead of throwing Gabby in got to Theresa.

But Darrell didn't get it. This is why Darrell is such an underrated Challenge guy. He might be on the Mt. Rushmore in terms of competitors for guys - it's Bananas, CT and then some sort of combo of Landon, Jordan and Darrell. He kept saying how she needs to go get her damn skull like a disappointed father. Again, these people just don't seem to understand you need a skull. If you win the challenge, if you don't have a skull you need the house vote to be someone you want to go against. Waiting and hoping you get thrown in down the road is the dumbest way to play this game. 

The elimination

Literally everyone voted for Theresa, not a surprise. Also not a surprise that Amber B. didn't go in and decided to help out her girl Kaycee. So we get the two best female contestants in Theresa vs Kaycee playing a game where they are hooked together with a rope, having to run opposite sides and put 3 rings on 3 different poles. 

Kaycee won with relative ease according to Devin. He told us they really made it seem closer than what it was with the editing and interviews. That said, not surprising. Kaycee is a monster. It sounded like this was Theresa's last Challenge as she wanted to come back to show her kids she could still compete. Remember, she basically went off the show when she got pregnant and her return was awesome. She's a good person to have on the season since she can compete and she knows how to fuck shit up politically. 

Not a great episode, but….

Listen, it wasn't a great episode. It was boring, there wasn't much drama. We had Kaycee vs Theresa which was important for the game, but it just was a boring episode. But they drew us all back in with the mid-season promo. Fessy and CT in wigs and headbands fucking face to face:

Fuck. Yes. That gives me something to look forward to. I need old school CT to come out. He's back in shape, people are terrified of him and Fessy is too big for his britches. He wants to be CT but he stinks. If CT doesn't have a skull and can't get one, I hope he gets booted for beating the shit out of Fessy. Give me Adam vs CT back.
