Bearfoot opened in May of 2012 and the community just keeps growing stronger every year. They have a wide variety of people who practice, ranging from middle schoolers to retirees. Every walk of life finds their space in an environment of inclusion and non-judgement.

Gina is a passionate, selfless, woman. For years, she has given her life to her commitment of fostering community in Bay Shore and beyond. Allowing others to promote their businesses in her space, holding space for people to heal and process hardships, and providing jobs to people in her community has been stripped away in a few short months due to the restrictions put on “fitness centers” by the state of New York. Gina is a single mother, whose family continues to struggle through the pandemic. Each month, Gina awaits to discover when her landlord will close the doors to bearfoot. Loosing Gina’s business would devastate the community, and most importantly strip her of her home and her two young boys.
