Dick Vitale Got So Bored With Tennessee Tearing Kansas Apart That He Kept Talking About His Own Mortality

In what was supposed to be the best game of the SEC-Big XII Challenge, Tennessee came out and handed Kansas a good, old-fashioned ass whoopin’. The Vols won by 19 points, but it wasn’t really that close.

It got so bad in the second half, in fact, that Dick Vitale started going off on a tangent about his own mortality.

Jeez, Dick. Maybe give us a warning before you go in about how you could keel over at any second. But my new barometer of a blowout win is one which makes one of the commentators contemplate his impending ultimate fate. Anything short of that is a run-of-the-mill ballgame.

I love Dickie V and I hope he’s doing alright. It sounds like he was really going through it tonight and I find it regretful the Jayhawks were unable to deliver him a better ballgame. Shame on them.
