I established Pie in the Sky Pizza almost 14 years ago. I have never required any assistance or help. It is the main income for my family (wife and two kids, 9 and 5). My main sales come from business people (banks, law firms, etc) in downtown charlotte and unfortunately all of them are working from home. In March 2020 I contracted covid-19 and spent 27 days (17 days on a ventilator) in the hospital. During that time our city had a shelter in place and my wife was forced to close the restaurant and yet she payed the employees out of pocket, as we continue to do. We are located in the same place as Clover Joes in downtown charlotte. We have been announced (4 times) as the best pizza in charlotte. I built the business from nothing and take pride in that, it’s my business that provides for my family and expenses. Sales are over 80% down and it’s a struggle to stay open and survive. I am trying to provide for my employees as they have families too and pay out of pocket as sales are down. I’m not sure how much longer we have to survive. We appreciate any assistance.
