Saturday Night Fever: RA's Gambling Corner Feat. Murls

What up, gang? We had a less than stellar Friday with an 0-2-1 night and were once again reminded that you live by the empty net and you die by the empty net. Mitch Marner bailed us out with an ENG with under a second left to snag a push that felt like a win (and he rewarded TOR puck line backers). But then the Blackhawks scored their fourth of the night with Detroit's goalie pulled to push their goal total to four. The Sharks hung in there for a bit before Minny pulled away late.

We are still playing with the house money we earned earlier in the week on St. Louis and Philly. And we gonna go back to one of those wells tonight.

Exsqueeze me?

Carter Hart is facing the Bruins back-up Jaroslav Halak tonight in the second game of their two-game set. While Halak is one of the better #2 guys in the league, I give the edge to Hart. And the Flyers will be tough to beat twice in a row tonight in Boston. So we are on Philly +120. We are also jumping on Philly -1.5 +325 for half of the amount of the money line play (this may be called an 'alternate line' or 'reverse puck line' depending on where you are).

Good luck to all.

Friend of Spittin' Chiclets, son of The Capital District, and 17-year pro Matt Murley will also be sharing his picks here as well.

Los Angeles Kings @ St. Louis Blues (-200, -1.5 +128, O/U 5.5)

Murls Take: I had the opportunity to play against Berube in the AHL and get chirped by him from behind the bench of the Phantoms. He is an intimidating fella and demands his team take on that personality. If he told me to skate the red line in warm ups there would be no two ways about it. I would do it like a Hanson brother. With motivation covered and Monty, who is a players coach on staff, St. Louis is lined up for a run of good games. The Kings are coming off their first win of the season (obviously I was on the Avs) but I do not think they are ready for the pressure the Blues put on teams. I am calling this a must win for my sanity and for all the bettors following along.

Murls Pick: St. Louis 4-1

Murleys Best Bet: St. Louis in regulation -125 and St. Louis team total over 3 goals (-130).
