Friday Picks Are Here: RA's Gambling Corner Feat. Murls
No dice with the Sens OV3.5 last night. Wasn't even close, really. Thankfully, it was a S&G play to give us rooting interest and nothing huge.
As I wrote earlier today, the Blackhawks are not good. They have scored just four 5-on-5 goals in four games. They are the only team without a win (not including Dallas, who has yet to play). And their goalies are struggling.
The Red Wings are 2-2 and have been playing some decent hockey. If there's been a very early surprise this season so far, you can say it's been the Detroit Red Wings. Thomas Greiss should get the start tonight and I don't see Chicago putting four pucks past him. So we are on UND 3.5 GOALS (-145) from the Blackhawks tonight.
Edmonton and Toronto totaled just four goals in their game Wednesday night. I think tonight's game will be wide-open and have much more offense. Tonight's total is six so we are jumping on OVER 6 (-115) in EDM/TOR.
I couldn't find the Tweet to post here but I read that in the last five seasons, five goalies have faced their former team and shut them out. New Calgary Flame Jacob Markstrom did it Saturday night when he shut out Vancouver. So in that vein, we're throwing a small play on San Jose +145 with Devan Dubnyk facing the Minnesota Wild.
Friend of Spittin' Chiclets, son of The Capital District, and 17-year pro Matt Murley will also be sharing his picks here as well.
Buffalo Sabres @ Washington Capitals (-115 O/U 5.5)
Murls Take: It is a huge weekend up on the lake and Buffalo as a city will be buzzing this weekend. The Sabres have shown flashes of a well-balanced attack with good special teams. Eichel and Hall will make some moves tonight in our nation's capital. Also, this whole COVID 'who was in whose room?' distraction will get the Caps out of rhythm. Ovie is not playing along with some of the other Russians and it will be interesting how they balance the lines. Again, we love Buffalo tonight and throughout the weekend. The tailgating for the Bills can start tonight, here we go Buffalo...
Murls Pick: Buffalo 4-2
Murleys Best Bet: Sabres -115
