Cyclist Crashed Directly Into A Pole In The Middle Of The Tour De France

I’m not a cycling expert or anything like that. Yeah I used to ride a bike with pegs (nbd) but I’m certainly in no position to be dealing out riding tips. However, having given that little warning that I don’t know what I’m talking about, maybe mix in a turn next time? I know, kind of a wild idea and it probably adds seconds to your time splits. But I just feel like that would have been the smart move in this situation. Instead of staring at a pole, going directly at it, slamming into it, then falling down the side of a mountain it probably would have been better to just hit the breaks a bit then turn and stay on the road. But hey, I’m sitting on the couch and that guy is riding/dying in the Tour de France so what do I know?
