Now Is the Time To Start Paying Attention to Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson

When it comes to B1G basketball players, the first one to come to your mind is probably Luka Garza from Iowa. The 1-2 punch of Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn from Illinois are probably near the top of your list, too.

But whether you are a big time college basketball fan or not, Hunter Dickinson from Michigan should be a name you consider.

The 7-1 freshman center out of Ann Arbor joined today's Barstool Bench Mob to discuss what college life has been like during a pandemic, some of his favorite stories playing for Juwan Howard, his order from Zingerman's (Michigan people know), and answering a few of Marty and Rico's ridiculous questions.

Here is what Hunter Dickinson's stat lines have looked like during Michigan's 10-0 start:

That's right, he just had a career-high 28 points in a blowout win over Minnesota yesterday. He has scored in double figures in all 10 wins, along with three double-doubles. Dickinson is 74% from the free throw line, which is a respectable number, considering he's taller than seven feet and is just a freshman.

The Alexandria, VA product will be doing big things on the national stage once March Madness rolls around, but the Mobsters and the rest of the college basketball universe can say they have been following one of the best players in the sport way before that.
