Wake Up With 53 Year-Old Rafael Palmeiro Hitting A Home Run For The Cleburne Railroaders

At the ripe age of 53, one of the smoothest swings in baseball could still get it done back in 2018. Most guys when they get old and retire head to softball. Nope, not Raffi Palmeiro. He signs with an independent team, the Cleburne Railroaders, with one of his sons, steps up to the plate, sees a few pitches and acts like it's 1998 all over again. That sexy lefty swing went up the ladder to hit this pitch too, not like this was a fastball grooved to Jeter. This was one of the best power hitters in the 90s sizing up a letter high pitch and sending it yard. Who was more excited, Raffi or the announcers? Pitcher probably doesn't feel great about it, but hey, at least you can tell your kids you gave up a bomb to one of five players in MLB history with over 3,000 hits and 500 homers. Raffi was always one of my favorite Orioles, so if we're being honest I'd take this swing right now over Chris Davis.
