Multiple Buccaneers Put On COVID List Before Regular Season Finale

Bucs star LB Devin White has tested positive for COVID-19. White was the 5th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and will miss the Falcons game on Sunday. White had a huge game against Atlanta two weeks ago recording three 4th Quarter sacks.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Bucs EDGE Shaq Barrett, who led the league in sacks in 2019, will miss Sunday's game vs. Atlanta for a close contact with White. He wasn't the only one as reserve DT Steve McClendon will also miss the game vs. the Falcons with a close contact per The Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud.

Barrett's wife has taken to instagram to denounce it was their fault in what is starting to become a ugly game of finger pointing:

White has responded on twitter, but since deleted that he is feeling fine and should be ready for the playoff game:

However, per Ian Rapapport, that the timing of White's test puts his status for the Bucs playoff game in doubt:

Certainly awful timing for a team that is clearly all-in for this season. If the Buccaneers beat the Falcons on Sunday, they'll secure the #5 seed and travel to the eventual NFC East Champion for their first playoff game.

In White's absence, reserve LB Kevin Minter is expected to get the start. And the Bucs have also brought back a Stoolie, LB Jack Cichy who was released from the team earlier this year only to sign with New England before failing his physical.
