Somehow, Someway This Has To Be Cheating: Gonzaga Is Adding A Top-50 Recruit TODAY, Who Just Happened To Graduate High School Early
Excuse me but what the fuck? We're talking about the No. 1 team in the country, whose biggest weakness is not having depth behind Drew Timme, adding a top-50 or top-30 recruit (depending where you look) that's 6'10" and can stretch the floor. The guy was Mr. Basketball in Oregon as a junior. OH, and he happened to just graduate high school. Now. As in within the last week or so.
I don't know how, but this has to be cheating. I even like Gonzaga. I want them to be good because I think it's incredibly stupid when people talk about how they choke or are pretenders. They were in a title game. They really only had one shitty NCAA Tournament and that was being a 1 seed that lost to Wichita State in the Round of 32.
Now, it's a fucking genius move by Gonzaga. This year doesn't count towards eligibility, so if Gregg doesn't even play it doesn't count. He's still a freshman next year. He gets to practice with the team and travel and all that good shit. But how the hell did he get eligible right away? This is the bigger problem with the NCAA. We see guys who transfer get denied eligibility even if their coach got fired or if they have a learning disability. We freshmen not pass the clearinghouse for months. Granted, it should always be this way. Guys should just be allowed to play college basketball. We finally saw a smart decision yesterday by the NCAA:
And it's trending that this is going to be the case going forward. Each player will have a chance to transfer 1-time penalty free. As it should be. It at least makes them sound more like 'student-athletes' like Mark Emmert wants us to believe. Oh, what else did Gonzaga do today?
Fuck yes. Can't play Baylor, let's get Virginia on the schedule. What a loaded non-conference they have this year. Kansas, WVU, Virginia and Iowa. They want any and all smoke.
Love that his mixtape is in black and white
I get that dudes reclassify all the time, but that's at the beginning of the year. I can't really recall a time a dude has been eligible midseason and immediately. You just don't see that. I still have no idea how many extra classes you take each semester for this to happen in high school, but here we are. Cheating or something.
