Dan Quinn Is Desperately Begging for Every Vacant Job in College Football

Mere weeks after being fired as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, Dan Quinn is apparently not eager to take a defensive coordinator position somewhere and is instead on the prowl for his next organization to run into the ground. Quinn has reportedly reached out to the University of Arizona about its opening after it fired Kevin Sumlin last weekend.

Arizona isn't a historically great college football program, but if my team just lost its in-state rivalry game by 63 points and went out and hired Dan Quinn to turn things around, I'd have a few things to say. But Arizona isn't the only college job Quinn has been linked to in the last few days. He must have the best agent in the business, because this guy was linked to Auburn the day Gus Malzahn was fired.

I'll tell y'all this right now: for all the wacky, crazy shit that goes on in the Southeastern Conference on a regular basis, Auburn hiring Quinn after paying $21 million to get rid of Malzahn for going 68-35 would be the biggest revolt you've ever seen — think Tennessee on Schiano Sunday, but with a worse coach. Those fans would go absolutely batshit insane. So much so that I actually very much want to see it now.

Regardless, I actually respect this move from Quinn. Just let everybody know you're a phone call away. While I am glad to have ridded my professional football team of his services, I would love nothing more than for Quinn to have his comeback attempt happen at any SEC school other than the University of Tennessee.

Go get your guy, Auburn.
