Adorable Little Girl Had A Breakdown Because The Blues Traded TJ Oshie So He Surprised Her With A Phonecall

SI - Many folks in St. Louis were distraught to learn that fan favorite T.J. Oshie had been dealt to the Capitals on July 3. But no one took the news quite as hard as Libby Lu. The five-year-old Oshie super-fan went into full meltdown when she learned that her hero was gone, and a heartbreaking video capturing the moment went viral. Of course this being hockey, the story didn’t end there. Libby and her father were invited on SportsCenter over the weekend to discuss the video. What she didn’t know was that Oshie himself would join in on the fun.  Given the chance to ask her hero any question, she went for the obvious: “Do you have a swimming pool?” Her hard-hitting follow-up: “Does it have a diving board?” She didn’t have much to say after that—hey, she’s five, she’s allowed to be shy—but it’s hard not to get caught up in the magic of the moment. Good on T.J. And good for Washington, which appears to have won over the affections of one young fan for the upcoming season.

This is just too cute. Little Libby Lue heartbroken that the American Hero TJ Oshie was traded to the Caps, so her parents did the only thing you can do and filmed her reaction. That is parenting 101 in 2015. Any time your child cries about an athlete, break that camera out, good things will happen. And voila, an appearance on SportsCenter and an invite to Oshie’s pool in Minnesota. You’d have to be a fool to not record your crying toddler in this day and age. And as for Oshie, he’s been on the Caps for a cup of coffee and is already the man. And already being recruited by Latta and Wilson to live with them.

He ultimately chose 77, Adam Oates’ old number. Thought for sure he was going to go with 76 to keep the whole America thing going, but 77 is fine too.
