Kansas State, A Big 12 Team, Just PAID To Lose To Something Called Fort Hays State, A Division II Team That Was 0-3 In Its Conference
I don't know why but whenever a major team gets upset or a team gets their ass kicked and they just put 'final' for a tweet, it gets a laugh out of me. They know the replies are going to be brutal. The SID wants nothing to do with it here. Just put the tweet up and mute the conversation so you don't have to deal with it. This is especially true when you lose to a Division II team that didn't even have a win in Division II!
This is why college basketball is the best. This was a buy-game. A game where Kansas State literally paid Fort Hays State to play them. Now buy-game losses happen, but that's typically to a decent mid-major. Not a Division II team. In fact this is how rare it is:
You know what really sucks though? It doesn't count as a win for Fort Hays State
For some reason it counts as an exhibition for Fort Hays State. This is just a disaster for Kansas State though. Sure, being embarrassed at home to a Division II team isn't great, but the program needs help. I actually like the freshman class, but they obviously are a long way from helping. Crazy that Bruce Weber had Kansas State in an Elite 8 just a few seasons ago.
Take it away, Jon:
PS: No, it's not the worst loss. Ralph Sampson losing to Chaminade will always have that. Insane that Virginia has the worst regular season loss and tournament loss (UMBC). Makes that title run even better.
