After 12 Days Off The Cowboys Play The Ravens And Some People ACTUALLY Think They Might Win

A Tuesday night NFL game, the week after a Wednesday afternoon start? Welcome to the fucked up world that is the 2020 football season.

Yep… It’s going up for the Ravens and the Cowboys ON A TUESDAY in one of the most postponed and rescheduled games in NFL history. And guess what? Even the most pessimistic Cowboys fans think Dallas has a chance of winning this game.

WHY?

The Ravens are reeling, and not just because 23 players have been on the Covid list this year but also because they have been shitting the bed all season WITH Lamar under center. Last week was more of the same when they lost to the Steelers last Wednesday (LOL) putting a huge nail in Baltimore’s playoff hopes. But thanks to Roger Goodell’s creative scheduling that only proves how much he hates Denver and how much he LOVES Lamar Jackson, the Madden Cover himself will be starting against the Cowboys which is the ONLY reason the Ravens are -7.5 favorites as I write this.

For Cowboy fans, this game is a bit of bad news and a bit of good news. The bad news is that Dallas’ last game was Thanksgiving, which we won’t talk about because of what a shit sandwich it was.

The good news is it’s been twelve days since that debacle, so basically they’ve had a second bye week. The last time the Boys came off a bye they surprised the Vikings, which is why some people are looking at this as a potential trap game.

The problem is that Baltimore is a rush heavy team, and the Cowboys defense is still #31 against the run. Potentially without Aldon Smith, things could get VERY ugly very fast.

And that’s just on defense. Without OL Zach Martin and Cameron Erving who both went down in the opening drive against the WFB and who will be out “multiple weeks”, I am not confident that Andy Dalton will get enough time to make much happen in the passing game. And with Terence Steele starting in Zach’s place, there is a whole new meaning to the saying “run left”.

I am NOT confident Dallas will be able to move the ball down the field in ANY meaningful way and who knows if they’re going to be able to stop the Gus Bus from barreling between the tackles and breaking big runs open.

Of course, there are other stories to watch as well.

The first is Andy Dalton’s familiarity with the Ravens. He’s played them 16 times during his career and has a decent record of slightly more than .500. Baltimore fans are still having nightmares over Dalton to Boyd, which simultaneously knocked them out of the playoffs and made Dalton an honorary Buffalo Bill.

Then there’s also the return of Dez Bryant. After being unceremoniously discarded by the Cowboys leaving him to be out of the league for YEARS, Dez is back and is HYPED for this game, saying "Whatever they have for me, I'm going to be prepared for it. I'm excited. I'm going to let the coaches do what they feel is best and I am just going to follow their lead."

It would be very fitting if Dez had a game winning catch. Stranger shit has happened.

PS He Caught it.

One final thing. Over/under on Dallas failed fourth down conversions: 1.5. HAMMER the over. Also, O/U 45… I think take the under here.

Prediction: Ravens 21, Dallas 9
