Is Peter The Great British Bake Off GOAT? Many Are Daring To Ask The Question
From the moment he walked into the tent, we knew that a new era was upon us. You could sense it in the yeast. He was young, sure. We could all see that. But it wasn't just raw talent we were dealing with here. Peter was polished, he was precise, he knew his shit inside and out.
But did we think this sick bastard was not only going to become the youngest finalist in Bake Off history, but also follow that up as the youngest Bake Off Champion of all-time? I mean…honestly…yes. That's how much of a beast this kid is. Peter was destined for greatness right from the start. Like Patrick Mahomes winning a Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP and league MVP all before turning 25 years old.
The thing about Bake Off is that you simply cannot afford to have any bad weeks. You have one bad week and that could be the end of you. Not only did Peter never have a fully disastrous week, but he was consistently baking the shit out of his opponents in the tent week after week after week. Always delivering on flavor, always delivering on crumb structure, always delivering on style, and settness of cutstard. This kid was like a robot who was programmed specifically to be the best baker on the planet. And all at 20-years-old.
Folks. We are witnessing the start of a dynasty here. He's too damn young and too damn good for it not to be. Just look at these goddamn custard slices.
You kidding me with that, Peter? Are you serious? We've got military precision, kick ass flavor, all under the pressure of competing in the Bake Off Finals. Big time bakers show up in big time moments, and Peter is bigger than them all.
We should all take a moment to sit back and really take this all in. Just think about how lucky you are to be living in a time that you can one day tell your great grandchildren exactly where you were when Peter became the youngest ever contestant to win Great British Bake Off. George Washington will never get to have that memory. Winston Churchill will never get to have that memory. But you do. We all do.
