Fifty Years ago today, Montclair State College won the Knute Rockne Bowl, equivalent to a Division III National Championship today. Montclair State beat Hampden-Syndey 7-6 in the Atlantic City Convention Center. The winner was declared the College Division East Region champions. When I was at Montclair State in 1999, I was a broadcast student, taking a television production class. The final was to produce an episode of Carpe Diem. The show that MSU produced appeared on various cable channels throughout the state of New Jersey. I gathered players from that Montclair State team to reminisce about that team as the 30th anniversary approached. My big project and I edited the interview pieces for the show while my professor Dr. Larry Londino hosted. Please enjoy on this the 50th Anniversary of Montclair State's greatest football achievement.
