The Giants Road To First Place Runs Through Cincinnati

Well this season has taken an interesting turn, huh? The Giants are 6 point favorites on the road today according to the wonderful Barstool Sportsbook, which has never told a lie in its life. I know that this line is partially a product of Joe Burrow's knee getting hit by the awful curse of being a Bengals number 1 pick. But you can't deny that the Giants being favored by this much for the first time in four years is also a product of the team being better, if not the greatest 3-7 team we've ever seen.

To make matters even better, the G-Men are coming off of a bye week, should have Graham Gano back off of the COVID-19 list, and are getting back this bad mammajamma from IR.

If you can't get excited about the Giants having a potential stud, super versatile safety to go along with Jabril Peppers and Logan Ryan, maybe you can get excited to do this after he makes a big play anywhere on the field.

FWIW, McKinney causes absolute havoc in Madden for me, so I have complete faith in him being good from Day 1 of his rookie season

The Giants are also playing their first game of the season without Marc Columbo since he was fired and/or potentially beat up by Coach Judge. If the O-Line struggles or even gives up a sack, I'm sure negative nancy Giants fans like Reags will cry about it. But just remember it can always be worse, as evidenced by the other team's O-Line today.

I know it's crazy to say this about a 3-7 team, but if the Giants are what I thought they have become under Coach Judge, they will take care of business against Brandon Allen and the Bengals this week. If they don't, I'll have to do some serious soul searching because I've never believed in something more than I believe this franchise is on the right track. Losing to an undermanned Zac Taylor team that doesn't have its best two Joes at QB1 and RB1 would crush me.

But if the Giants win today and an Eagles loss tomorrow means Big Blue will be in first place heading into Week 13 since our QB1 simply refuses to lose to the current first place Washington Football Team. That's pretty cool, right?
