Pardon My Take's Football Guys of the Week Nominees Presented by Philips Norelco - Week 11
Last week, Pardon My Take recurring guest Lane Kiffin won our Football Guy of the Week Award after tossing his clipboard into the air after his Ole Miss Rebels scored the game-winning touchdown. Now, we shift our focus to Week 11, where four more nominees hope to join the most prestigious club in sports.
Before we get started, let me just say that this was the hardest it has been to dwindle it down to just four choices. There were so many elite options out there, but not everybody could make the cut. Here we go...
St. John’s Catholic (MD) HC Daryl Hayes - Suffered an in-game heart attack, coached through it, and survived
While it may have been tough to finalize the choices this week, it was simple to include this one. In fact, this was the most requested nominee in the two years that I have been in charge of organizing this award for the show (and for good reason). Coach Hayes' team may have lost the game, but more importantly, he was okay.
Abilene Christian OL Coach Mason Hite - Allowed his offensive line to rip off his sleeves after the team scored a touchdown
Any unique celebration has a good chance of finding their way to this list, and that is exactly what we have here. Rip those sleeves off and celebrate.
Mississippi Gulf Coast CC Team - Tried bringing out a chainsaw out of the locker room ahead of their game vs. Jones College
This one was brought to my attention by the one and only William Football. We've seen the turnover chainsaw in the D-I ranks, but unfortunately for MGCCC, this one was not allowed on the gridiron by the officials.
Army HC Jeff Monken - Was brought to tears while talking about his seniors after his team’s win over Georgia Southern
Yes, Football Guys are allowed to cry. Especially after a big win. Next up for the Black Knights? That's right, Navy. December 12th.
