Orioles' Trey Mancini Says He Is Cancer Free And Will Be Ready For Spring Training

Throughout the last couple of months I've been providing updates on Orioles' stud, Trey Mancini and his fight vs Stage 3 Colon Cancer. From his diagnosis back in April, to him rehabbing with his adorable puppy, to him finishing chemotherapy in September, to him taking his first swings in the batting cages, to now Trey officially being declared cancer free. This one is the best update of them all. He was on a Zoom call with Orioles beat reporters yesterday and said he is feeling great, ready to go for Opening Day and ready to do whatever the team needs from him. Quite a different tune than just a few months back when he was telling them about his chemo treatments, the light exercises he was doing, and not being sure when he'd be back on a field.

No tumor DNA in any of his bloodwork is amazing, he's finally able to live the life a normal 28 year-old outfielder/first baseman should be able to. It was great to see and hear him talking about baseball stuff, where he's gonna play in 2021, and talking about Opening Day instead of having to talk about his treatment. Seeing Trey with the rest of the Birds at the beginning of Spring Training is going to be an awesome sight, but him taking the field on Opening Day will be even better.

It was also announced that through the sales of his F16HT shirts, over $80,000 was raised for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Lets hope that disgusting C word stays away. Welcome back, Trey.
