Anthony Edwards already should have been the No. 1 overall pick unless the Warriors somehow landed that. But now? Yeah it's a no-brainer. You don't drop an A+ line about how you're not scared of Minnesota cold and snow without planning on going there. I don't care if it doesn't make sense, because like he says he's not playing hoops in the snow. It's the one thing I always laugh about during free agency and shit like that. When people talk about Miami beating a popular free agent spot because of the weather and the Miami life. Nope, it's the fact that they are arguably the best run franchise and there's no state tax in Florida. Basketball isn't like football or anything like that where you have to worry about conditions. Shit, you're even traveling during the winter with the season going on so you're not even in Minnesota that much.
I gotta be honest, I love how we're getting the NBA Draft and free agency right into the start of college hoops season. Just a full week of hoops all over the place. I said it an earlier blog too, but this year's NBA Draft is going to be wild. There are reports all over the place of who is going where, potential trades and people saying everyone stinks in the draft. It's going to be mayhem, especially when you consider there was no real combine, workouts, meetings, NCAA Tournament, etc. Teams actually have to watch film and do research.
All that matters is Anthony Edwards isn't afraid of the cold. Biggest selling point to going to Minnesota. Don't need to be the right complement off the ball to D'Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns. Don't need to be that secondary ball handler. Nope. It's all about how he doesn't care about 2 feet of snow 8 out of 12 months. Never been more sold on a No. 1 pick if I'm a Wolves fan.
