Oh hell yes! When we first heard about this December 22nd start date with a December 1st training camp date, it sounded almost too crazy to be real. I figured players would ultimately vote against it, seeing as how the Finals just ended like 5 seconds ago. Well, egg on my face! This means we are pretty much all systems go for complete and utter chaos these next few weeks. Why? Well, the NBA Draft is in like two weeks on November 18th. Free agency will probably start a few days after that, let's call it November 21st. That means a process that usually covered months of the offseason will all have to be jammed in a 10 day timeframe. 10 days! That's insane. It's going to be the wild wild west and I cannot wait. NBA free agency is already the best part of the offseason, well now we are putting that into hyperdrive. I have no idea how this is going to work but I cannot wait to find out.

It feels weird to say, but the NBA season is looking like it's just 48 days away. That's nothing. We can make 48 days in our sleep after all this quarantine/hiatus experience we all have. Pretty sure that'll go by in a blink of an eye.

With such an early start, the next question becomes how teams are going to handle this. With marquee teams going deep in the playoffs, what happens on Christmas? I'm sure the league wants to put the Lakers on right? Well what if LeBron says fuck you and sits out because he's had basically no offseason. How is the league going to prevent big time load management after everyone basically ignored those rules last year. If you're concerned about ratings which I'm sure the league is, I wonder how this early restart will impact who plays and who sits.

Whatever though, those are problems for Adam Silver to worry about. All I care about is making it through these 48 days and the return of basketball being around the corner. LFG.
