Currently at Barstool Sportsbook, Texas A&M are a 14 point favorite and the total is 53.5.
When looking at Arkansas on the field, quarterback Felipe Franks has played well. He's been steady and played the best we've seen him play in a college uniform. He has thrown for almost 1000 yards and has limited his mistakes. Against an A&M pass defense that is poor, he needs to continue his hot play. Texas A&M through 4 games are allowing 279 a game through the air. The thing I like about the Arkansas offense as well has been balance and the ability of them to block up front and run the ball. This offensive line has been fierce and over the last two games they've had a 100 plus yard rusher in both.
Arkansas defensively has been just as fierce. Turnovers have been the name of the game so far this season, through 4 games, they have 13 total turnovers gained including 10 picks. They are making key stops and making the opponent pay with mistakes. One of the most impressive numbers from the defense has been the 3rd down defense. Opponents are converting just 32 percent of 3rd downs which is 17th in the country. QB Kellen Mond for A&M has been inconsistent and the wideouts have been beat up and the ones that have been in there have been poor at times. DC Barry Odom has done a terrific job with this defense, especially with the zone schemes. It has been tough to beat them.
A&M is tough on the ground defensively and they are going to make the Razorbacks work for it, but surprisingly enough I trust Franks to make the right reads and to hang in this game. Through four games, Arky have been a dog four times and covered all of them. My type of team.
The football culture at Arkansas seems to be changing. Sam Pittman has brought hunger and want back to this program that for awhile has eluded them in the SEC. They play hard and tough especially on defense. Through just a few games, they have been in all of them outside of a half against Georgia. They have shut down good offenses and been a thorn in the sides of everyone they've played.
