A Perfect Explanation For People Who Are New To Wrestling On Why John Cena Gets Booed Relentlessly (Despite All The Great Things He Says and Does)

This is perfect. I get asked this question a lot on Twitter when I’m tweeting about Raw and Cena comes out and the whole crowd starts singing “John Cena Sucks” to the tune of his music:

And whenever I tweet about how annoying Cena is, the new viewers are like wtf man. It’s because of everything said in that top video. Whenever there is a cool new heel, they feed him to Cena, Cena beats him, and we never hear from that heel again. And it’s not really Cena’s fault, it’s just the way they write the show, but holy shit after so many times, it just has gotten so, so, so old. But WWE is a publicly traded company, so that’s what’s going to happen when you need to sell tshirts and backpacks and the like.

Now I will say this, obviously John Cena in real life is a saint. He’s like the nicest person ever, has done more Make-A-Wish events than anyone, does all sorts of charity work, etc. But John Cena the character, up until a few months ago, was the fucking WORST. He still kind of is, but now that they have taken him out of the main event picture and have let other guys take the spotlight, it’s been a big breath of fresh air. He still does the same, “never give up, USA! USA!, overcome the odds” promos, but his matches have been much better. But then he does awesome things like this, and people are like oh yea, he’s an awesome person, let’s not get that confused with his shitty character.

The way Cena goes under the middle rope the same way the kid did was sneaky awesome.

Which brings us to my guy Kevin Owens and his feud vs Cena. The promos they cut on each other this past Monday on Raw were really awesome. Finally a Cena feud that is interesting. Now, Owens already beat Cena at a PPV, and they are fighting again in 2 weeks. This is going to be big to see if they let Owens be Lesnar-esque and beat Cena twice in a row, or if they will revert to the norm and have Cena overcome the odds. I fucking love Owens, hopefully he is the guy we’ve been waiting for. #FightOwensFight #BlogNateBlog

Lots of potentially interesting things could happen between now and Mania. Probably will start with Roman Reigns winning MITB. With him and Ambrose bffs on screen again, what will this mean for Ambrose in the title picture? My guess is we are setting up for a triple threat match at Mania between Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose, likely won by Reigns. Does Cena ever get back into the main event picture? What will they do with Lesnar, who has a 2 year contract basically to main event the big PPVs…but if he’s not in the main event, what are they paying him for? Maybe Reigns doesn’t win the title at Mania this April, but beats Lesnar at the 2017 Wrestlemania? Are they thinking that far ahead? Very curious what they do. The product has tons of young talent, here’s to them not fucking it up!
