Somebody Should Probably Put This Kid On Suicide Watch After His Prom Invite Got Rejected In Front Of The Whole School

Annnnnnnnd that’s about as bad as it gets.  That made me want to peel off my own skin and throw it in the front yard and all I did was watch it on a computer.  Can you imagine being there?  Or worse, being the kid who just got posterzied by the girl you wanted to go to prom with?  The fact that he didn’t just sprint away from the situation as fast as he could speaks to the kind of person he is I guess.  If that’s me, I’m gone.  Not just gone for then night or gone for the next few days.  I’m gone forever.  No one from my school or even my hometown would ever see me again. I’d be a ghost.  Disappear so fast and so abruptly they’d start to wonder if I ever existed at all.

PS- I’ve said this before but I want to avoid awkwardness so much that I’m of the opinion that the girl should’ve said yes there. Even if she already has another date.  Just say yes and sort it out later.  Don’t leave the kid out to dry like that.  Say yes in public in front of the whole school and let him down afterwards in private.  Then again, it’s his fault for not knowing she already had a date.  Might want to check into that first.  If you’re gonna ask her in front of the whole school you have to know 150% that she’s gonna say yes.  He fucked up.
