Let's Go To Italy... BMOC Serie A Selections For The Weekend

If you follow me on Twitter or know me you know I bet a lot of soccer. From Premier League to Europa League to my favorite Serie A. Every Friday I will break down a few matches and throw out my selections for the weekend. I'm rolling right now and coming off a great season after the COVID break ended and action returned in Italy from June til August. The new season has just begun, so let's go. PS. All of my lines are directly from the Barstool Sportsbook.

One thing to know about Serie A is it's such a great league to watch. The football is terrific and they score plenty of goals, so if you're someone who doesn't love soccer or don't know much it's a great league to start with.

Sassuolo v Crotone: I love Sassuolo, they have been one of my favorite teams to bet on for awhile in Italy. They play a beautiful attacking brand of football and they have a ton of goal scoring threats. In their last game against Spezia, they scored 4, but it could've been more. They had 3 goals disallowed due to offsides. They can score goals in a hurry and I worry for Crotone here. They have been welcomed back to Serie A this year swiftly with some sound defeats so far. Frankly, they have a bear of a schedule to start the campaign and it won't get easier here. They gave up 4 to lowly Genoa, so Sassuolo could score 5-6 LOL. Crotone also just don't offer much going forward and Sassuolo is dominant at home. PICK: Sassuolo -1.5 (+114)  also Sassuolo to score in both halves (+107)

Bologna v Benevento: It's been clear so far this season, Benevento is going to ship goals all season. They remind me a lot of team that was in Serie A last year that went down... Lecce. They have good enough talent going forward and have attacking options like Roberto Insigne and Gianluca Lapadula but give up 3 goals a game. Evident in their 2 games to start the season where they've conceded 8 times. Yikes. I made money hand over fist last season in games like this that turn into back and forth affairs. Bologna is a bit more talented and tactical but haven't kept a clean sheet since 9/25/19! Yes you read that right, over a year, that's 35 league matches since they last had a game where they didn't concede a goal. This will be a fun one. Lay the price here and if you're scared get a dog. PICK: Bologna/Benevento OVER 2.5 (-159)

Parma v Verona: Not a lot of people will spend a lot of time on this match as there are better matches with bigger teams on the card. This seems like a match though with two teams going in opposite directions. Parma looks to be a mess with unhappy players upfront and have conceded 6 in 2 games and Verona has defended at a high level and are flying so far. They really deserved a win against Roma and were solid in a win vs struggling Udinese. I gotta tell you Parma was terrible defensively against Bologna. They were cut open time and time again. I just don't like where Parma is headed this season and Verona is brimming with confidence. I gotta tell you Parma was terrible defensively against Bologna. PICK: Verona (+165)

As always bet responsibly...
