Slam Diego Gets Some Brutal News As Neither Mike Clevinger Nor Dinelson Lamet Are Healthy Enough To Be On The Wild Card Roster

FUCKKKKKKK! Absolutely brutal news for the Padres on the day of Game 1 against the Cardinals in the Wild Card round. Thought maybe Clevinger was going to get a break and be able to pitch in Game 3. Instead he's probably out for the entire postseason. His bullpen on Tuesday did not go to plan and they're not only worried about him short term, but also long term. Fucking disaster. To make matters worse Dinelson Lamet is also out for the series with biceps tendinitis. Two absolute studs taken out of the series. Get more lucky St. Louis, you literally can't. 

The Fathers are forced to start Chris Paddack today who certainly has not pitched like a number one pitcher all season (4.73 ERA). After Paddack they're looking at Zach Davies and I guess a bullpen game for Game 3. Goddamit. The Padres were so much fun in the regular season and they're gonna get jobbed by the injury bug at the worst possible time. This offense is plenty good enough to slug their way to a few wins, but long term you need those two guys atop the rotation to have a real shot at winning it all. This blows. 

I do wonder if they'd have the balls to bring up Mackenzie Gore for the NLDS if they make it. That man is a god child and he's on the taxi squad. Fuck it, I'd do it.
