Ducks Fly Together

Pretty crazy Alex Killorn and the Tampa Bay Lightning put this video out 4 months ago to the day of puck drop for tonights game. Just buzzing around Tampa on Jetskis without a care in the world. Little did they know 4 months later they would be in Edmonton, Alberta living out of a hotel room, playing for the Stanley Cup against the Dallas Stars.

Something about this Lightning team was just different from the beginning of the season. Maybe it was how their season ended last year with getting swept out of the first round after breaking basically every regular season record they could. Or it was all the off season moves they made. This team approached the offseason perfectly. They didn't add top 6 talent or a top 4 defenseman, they added locker room guys like Pat Maroon. They added veteran leadership in guys like Kevin Shattenkirk and Zack Bogosian. And it showed both on and off the ice. This team was just closer than most teams. That is why videos like the one above were made. They all wanted to play and win for eachother and that is why they are all partying with the Cup right now.
