The Haters and Losers, of Which There Are Many, Are Very Upset That Roman Josi Is Your 2020 Norris Trophy Winner
As far as I'm concerned, this hockey season became fake as soon as the Preds were eliminated in the "Stanley Cup Playoff Qualifiers" by the Coyotes. But it's nice to see the NHL got this decision right, giving the 2020 Norris Trophy to Roman Josi.
John Carlson and Victor Hedman had great seasons and if you were going to go strictly based on points, Carlson would have been a defensible choice. But if you just turn on a Preds game and watch everything Josi does on the ice, I think it becomes pretty clear he's right there as the best defenseman in the NHL. The dude just makes plays.
NHL — Josi had an NHL career high in goals (16), assists (49) and points (65) in 69 games this season. He was second in the League among defensemen in each category, and his assists and points were the most by a defenseman in Nashville history. Josi also ranked third in the League in average ice time per game (25:47), had 23 power-play points, and led the Predators with 108 blocked shots and a plus-22 rating.
Unfortunately, there are many people on the internet who do not properly appreciate what the best defenseman in hockey looks like and they are quite upset at the development that Josi is now a Norris Trophy winner.
Sad! It is very unfortunate so many people want to discredit the work of someone who is now objectively the best defenseman in hockey. You hate to see it.
The Preds suck, guys. Just let us have this.
