Preworkout Review: Optimum Nutrition's assortment of Preworkouts

Optimum Nutrition was kind enough to send me an assortment of their preworkouts and let me tell you first, there is a time and a place for each of these.

I am going to rate all of these together just because they are dynamic and compliment each other in different ways but share similarities, imagine Alvin and the chipmunks. Alvin, Simon and Theodore.

First off I wanna say these all did not score too high on the T-rex factor. These Pre-workouts were all strictly Business. Gold standard gives off the here's what I'm giving no funny business vibes. Big whip it out and lay it out on the table type delivery. But let me tell you like the postman who is very friendly with your wife they always deliver.

The Gold Standard pre-workout provides a no bullshit standard caffeine buzz with a big load of great quality ingredients. Serious creatine load, with serious beta-alanine (enough to cause a tingle) and citrulline for the pump. The blueberry Lemonade flavor is extremely reminiscent of the blue section of a rocket pop which did allow me extra youthful nostalgia hyperactivity. The workout I had after taking this was honest and straightforward, Blue-collar if you will, I got in got a pump and got endorphins. It was all good. It was a great pre-workout for people who want straightforward no-bullshit results. Nothing too crazy but nothing underdelivering.

Next up we have Amino Energy + Electrolytes

I am going on record here saying this is a great pre-workout for when you are hungover, electrolytes are a major ingredient in Pedialyte and this pre-workout fits the bill. Lower dosage of essential pre-workout ingredients for a pump such as beta-alanine and arginine. this is a lighter more cardio geared pre-workout where a pump is not necessarily the goal. I am going to recommend this pre-workout to PFT for his biking thing he does because it is geared towards performance and recovery not necessarily muscle building and getting jacked. Watermelon taste is pretty standard. I love the Taurine load (active ingredient in redbull) because I could see the thought process behind this, performance, recovery, pissed off attitude. This would be a great supplement before a men's league game or whatever my target audience does for athletics, I would take this before sports because it does not dehydrate you with some of the heavier stimulants or nitrous oxide booster (which tend to affect stamina) but still provides all-natural energy and electrolytes for cardio-based performance. Also the aminos help your muscle recovery and personally I feel they help with D.O.M.S (delayed onset muscle soreness)

Last but not least, this was my favorite of the three. Amino Energy

This stuff delivers the ingredients for a serious pump and the taurine, and the aminos. The only thing is you need to use several scoops and it doesn't taste the best but I don’t really care. I am going to be using this alot in the next couple weeks to put on lean mass because it gives you serious beta alanine tingles, the pump you need to feel jacked up after, the taurine for the redbull pissed off attitude, and the aminos to rebuild the torn muscle fibers to put on lean mass. I also like the green tea caffeine which I feel is more cool calm and collected energy. Only complaint is that you need to use alot so its heavy in your stomach and tastes ehhh.
