Suck It Haters! EA Sports Announced That Madden Sales Are Up 20% Year-Over-Year In Its First Week

Business Wire-  As millions of fans across the globe are gearing up for the return of the NFL next week, EA SPORTS Madden NFL 21 is where football fans have come to play and express their excitement for the season’s start. Madden NFL 20 was a record-setting year that saw more unique players and engagement than ever before in Madden NFL franchise history. Now, Madden NFL 21 continues that momentum with sell-through up nearly 20 percent year-over-year in its first week.

Since the game’s launch on August 28 for Xbox® One, PlayStation®4 and PC, players have played nearly 50 percent more games in Madden NFL 21 compared to the first week of Madden NFL 20.

Lets see how the EA Sports customer support is handling the flood of angry callers complaining about this year's game.

As someone that has been a fan of the Madden franchise since ambulances were picking corpses off the field 30 years ago, I hate that EA Sports continues to make money hand over fist without improving the game they are allegedly in. But goddamn do I #RE2PECT them. Every August we get a new Madden, every August millions of people buy it, and every August the internet goes crazy that it STILL is the same game that it has been forever.

However, things seemed to reach a boiling point this year with #NFLDropEA was trending and Madden getting a THREE PERCENT grade from the internet which is infamous for rating controversial things fairly.

You know what this sales performance almost definitely means? More of the same. Sure they may improve franchise mode along the way or take the time to remove banners that say Madden 19 and Madden 20 in stadiums. But in the end it'll probably be about the same game as it has been for years outside of a few new features nobody has asked for filled with microtransactions up, in, and out the ass. And we will continue to buy the game because we have no other options as long as EA holds the NFL license, like it does for the next five years.

In fact, now I want more microtransactions to the point nothing in the game is not a microtransaction, even in modes that aren't Ultimate Team, The Yard, or whatever mumbo jumbo is coming next. Want to play with the Chiefs in an online exhibition game? A 50 cent microtransaction can get you all the officially licensed KC equipment you need. Would you like Patrick Mahomes to play QB for you in that game? Better cough up another 25 cents for the reigning Super Bowl MVP. Gonna need a field for that game to be played, right? Well today is your lucky day because I heard Arrowhead is charging people a low low one time fee of 10 cents for the privilege to play a game there! If everything is a microtransaction, nothing is.

Anyway, see you guys next August when we complain about and inevitably buy* the same game we swore off the year before!

*But not before asking All Biz Pete for codes, which I heard he just got a fresh batch of
