Big Ben's Not Fuckin' Leavin

Yep. Cue the "Wolf of Wall Street" scene with Big Ben's face over Leo DiCapprio's.

Ben Roethlisberger spoke to the media for the first time since his elbow surgery last September on Tuesday, and boy did it get me fired up.

I've been saying it all offseason. The old narrative about Big Ben being "fat" is gone. I'll admit 2009 Big Ben was a hefty boy no doubt, but not now. He's ready. I don't give a shit if it's the Jay Glazer special of a couple beers and yoga and golf, it's working and you can tell by just looking at him.

Plus it doesn't hurt to have the man himself confirm it's the lightest he's been since before even their last Super Bowl title. Slim Ben is here.

You thought I was playin games? You thought I was doing this for show? This man knows what he's got. And what he's got is a young group of playmakers on offense without the toxicity of Bell and Antonio Brown, his O-line still together, and a defense finally reminiscent of the defenses that helped win him his two Super Bowls and get him to a third.

People just always assume he's going to retire? Hell no. He's not fuckin' leaving. Tom Brady is finally out of the AFC. Mahomes and Kansas City are set but it's always extremely difficult to repeat - even if you're the Chiefs.

He knows this is the last window for him, and he wants to take advantage of it.

And lastly, in perfect Big Ben fashion, he had to get a subtle jab in there to his old buddy and now nemesis, Antonio Brown:

When that soap opera between AB and the Steelers was going down, Mr. Big Chest made a big fuss about how apparently Big Ben never invited him over to his house. Well, the pettiness of Ben Roethlisberger lives on in great fashion.

My final takeaways are that he's back, he's slim, and he's ready to win.

Now let's just hope there's a season.
