I Have Full Faith Scot McCloughan Will Do The Right Thing With The Number 5 Pick Tonight In His First Draft As Redskins GM

So many mock drafts. So many “what ifs” and speculation. But there is really nothing to be worried or nervous about this year. they have committed to rebuilding this cancer of a team, not just slapping a bandaid on it and pretending it’s better. The Skins finally have a first round pick again after not having one for the last 15 (rough estimate) years because of the RG3 trade. They finally have a GM who has built Super Bowl winning teams before (or just a GM, at all, so that’s nice). I have never been more relaxed about an NFL draft in my life.

The Skins have so many needs that trading down might be the move. But at the same time, they seem to be happy with taking Dante Fowler at 5, assuming of course Leonard Williams is off the board. If they trade down, they still could nab Vic Beasley, as well as help in the secondary, offensive line, or linebacker.

Again, there are so many holes that the Skins need young players in that their options are limitless. I trust McCloughan to work the phones and have a fucking hell of a draft tonight. I fully expect all the pundits to come out of the draft saying the Skins improved the most, which won’t be hard to do when you have so many positions of need.

PS: My favorite part of the draft is how every expert who makes all those mock drafts are never even close. But year after year they get paid to make mock drafts.
