Simple PSA To MLB Players Moving Forward: Don't Be The Asshole

Okay certainly bad news for the Cardinals today. We officially have our second outbreak in Major League Baseball. 13 members of their organization have the rona, including 7 players. Not great at all. As crazy as it sounds I don't think this is enough to cancel the season based on the other good news that we heard from the Phillies and Marlins today, but I could be wrong. If the Phillies had an outbreak of their own triggered by the Marlins then I'd say that's a wrap, but the fact that it did not spread is at least a little bit encouraging. If the Cardinals wanna be assholes and be selfish, fine. Just cuncel them and move on.

As I said the Marlins and Phillies have no more positive coronavirus tests and will be allowed to continue their seasons this week. Joey Votto's self reported symptoms came back with negative tests and he is expected to report back to the Reds right away. Every team that has followed the protocols and been extra careful has avoided any of the shit the Cards and Marlins are going through. There's no coincidence there. Wear a mask, limit where you go, be smart. Seems to be a decent strategy to stay healthy. Look at a team like the Cubs. Supposedly the whole team has taken this situation as seriously as possible. The result? They have not had one single positive test since testing has begun. The Yankees haven't had any issue with having their guys be responsible and staying away from random shit that could put them at risk. The result? A full bill of health right now in terms of coronavirus. Go figure.

Here's the thing for baseball teams moving forward. Just don't be stupid. The Marlins went out during their exhibition game in Atlanta, got the rona, and spread it throughout the whole team. Bad. Don't do that during a global pandemic. The Cardinals reportedly went to a casino and supposedly a golf course that required caddies as well. Now there's no way to be certain that's where they got the virus, but the bottom line is you shouldn't be leaving your hotel when you're on the road to do shit like that. If you decide to chance it you're assuming the risk of cancelling the entire season for everyone else. Don't be stupid, use your head. Why do you have to be so selfish? You really want to ruin this for every other team that's treating this situation dead serious? Just don't be the asshole. The Marlins were assholes. The Cardinals were assholes and now the Field of Dreams game is off the table along with their upcoming series against Detroit. That just sucks.

Hopefully these two outbreaks were wake up calls for all of the players. If you don't think you can follow the protocols then opt out. It's that simple. If teams were getting outbreaks while still following the rules that's one thing and can't do anything about it. But if it's shit that is super preventable like the Marlins and Cards then that's ridiculous to me. That's where I get pissed off.

Please don't take this Yankees season away from me like this. I won't recover mentally. Am I completely losing my mind over the concept of coronavirus because I got this taste of baseball? 100%. This is such a shit show and I feel like I'm the dog in that meme with the fire around it.
