Ricky Renteria Is Really Pissing Me Off

Ozzie hasn't been exactly shy about calling out Renteria for his bullshit lineups thus far and wants back in the bizz:

And it's well deserved. The lineup for game 2 of today's DH that the White Sox are trotting out is absolutely pathetic.

I am of the opinion that managers are all basically the same and they can't sway wins and losses too much. If a team is pissing on the ball and the SP is cruising, a manager isn't really doing shit innings 1 through 9. That said, so far in 2020 Renteria has handed in lineup cards and made ill-timed decisions that have absolutely put the Sox in a worse position to win baseball games. I'm not saying their record would be any different through 4 games if it were anyone else, but the process behind and prior to his decisions have been awful.

-Eloy's "hurt"… fine. I'm of the opinion that he should be playing since he took full BP and wasn't diagnosed with a concussion after running into the wall on Sunday, but I'll let that one slide for Renteria. Might not even be his call. Besides that?
- Delmonico 4th is a complete joke. He's a AAAA player at best and should be pinch hitting for Detroit against RHP this year. Not hitting cleanup on a team that is trying to win a division
- The highest paid player in the organization's history has now sat out 40% of the team's games through 5 games. How he's not in the lineup in some fashion, especially as a switch hitter, is disgusting. DH him (him being Grandal) and catch McCann (whom I'll never ever bitch about being in the lineup or behind the plate)
- Mendick should be the starting 2B right now and until further notice. Garcia should play RF until Mazara is back and never touch the IF again. He's so bad fundamentally as someone who hasn't played a ton of IF in his life and that's not really a fault of his. He's just not an infielder but is a perfectly adequate outfielder.
- Collins should have also hit for Garcia in the 8th inning of game 1
- Robert hitting 7th is hilariously bad. The dude is the best hitter on the team right now, but sure, stash him towards the back of the lineup to "protect" him even though pitchers attack him as if he's a seasoned vet that's won multiple MVP's already in spite of him hitting in the lower 3rd. He's handled big league pitching better than I could have ever imagined thus far and hitting him 7th is actively deciding to put the team in a worse spot to win as he won't hit as much as he could be.

It's all just stupid and I'm really fucking pissed right now.

Flush game 1, pound them game 2, and start a winning streak and start one right now.

Also - I don't care if the Sox fire Don Cooper, but I don't care if they don't at the same time. He's not pitching for them. The starting rotation has to sack up and be the best versions of themselves and so far outside of Keuchel, they haven't been. They know that as much as anyone. It's not Coop's fault that Cease and Gio struggled in their first starts of the season, just like he's not the reason Ross Detwiler through 2 beautiful innings or w/e it was in game 1.
