Tom Brady Was At Gillette During The Patriots White House Visit, According To Mike Reiss
Not the family commitment in question, but maybe?
(Source) — Many have wondered where Tom Brady was last Thursday when he didn’t attend the White House with the rest of his team as the Patriots were honored by President Obama. According to ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss, Brady was present at Gillette Stadium for a stretch of time that the rest of the team was at the White House last Thursday. The team said Brady didn’t attend because of a prior family commitment.
Mike Reiss doesn’t miss a lot, if ever, so I’m gonna assume this is true. First let me say that a family commitment doesn’t mean you’re tied to the bed by your wife. Tom didn’t say it was a family “emergency” and he’d be by someone’s hospital bed for the next week. A family commitment can just mean you have something to do that day and a trip all the way to DC doesn’t fit the itinerary. That doesn’t mean you can’t mix in a quick sweat down the road before you go to your prior commitment.
But, BUT, if the whole thing was a lie and Tom just wanted to work on his game instead of meet Obama? Then he is THE BEST MOTHERFUCKING PERSON IN HISTORY! I’m so fired up even thinking about TB12 blowing off shmoozing the president so he can work on his passing tree. That’s my quarterback! Doesn’t rest on his laurels. Doesn’t want praise. Doesn’t need a pat on the back from the ruler of the free world. Just needs the next Lombardi, needs it like he needs air to breathe. Tom remembers the beginning of this season when idiots were wondering if he was done and he’s not going through that again. All the kids can go celebrate their Super Bowl championship, Tom knows the best Super Bowl is the next one. He’s onto Pittsburgh.
PS – It’s fucked up that we’re even looking into this. “Family commitment” is the adult version of an elementary school student saying “I have diarrhea.” You don’t ask questions, just tell them to come back when it’s all set.
