Thursday Night NASCAR Betting Preview (7:30 PM)

Boogity, boogity, boogity! We've got some racing tonight, y'all! You may be in full baseball mode (I don't blame you), but NASCAR does have a race in Kansas tonight.

The past 2 weeks, we've had Austin Dillon (100/1), and Cole Custer (300/1) finish in victory lane. Truly astonishing stuff to have massive underdogs like that finish at the top in back-to-back weeks. Here is what the odds look like tonight:

The usual cast of characters at the top. I keep coming back to Joey Logano every single week. His green-lap speed has been great at 1.5-mile tracks all year (2nd) and has won twice at Kansas in the past. He sits at 13/1. His past showings at Kansas haven't been great, though: 17th, 15th, 8th, 3rd, 21st.

Martin Truex Jr. has dominated at Kansas over his last 6 races thanks to 2 victories and 5 top 10 finishes. Truex Jr. has dominated 1.5-mile tracks since February 2017 with an average finish of 7.07 and 10 wins, both the highest in NASCAR. He may be worth a look at +650.

If you're looking for a long shot, Kurt Busch may be worth an investment. He sits at 25/1. Over his last 4 races at Kansas, he's finished 2nd, 8th, 7th, and 4th. He may be able to steal one tonight.

Plays:

Martin Truex Jr. -130 over Denny Hamlin: As I mentioned above, Truex Jr. dominates intermediate tracks, specifically Kansas. Hamlin is no slouch himself, but his average finish at Kansas ranks 9th among active drivers in the last 6 races here. His driver rating is an average 93.7, while Truex Jr. has given us a phenomenal 110.8 over the last 6.

Kurt Busch top 10 finish -120

Clint Bowyer +105 vs. Matt Dibenedetto: A little bit confused by this line. DiBenedetto hasn't been great on intermediate tracks over his career, ranking 35th with an average finish of 23.67. Of course, DiBenedetto has switched teams, but since he started racing for Woods Brothers, his average finish at intermediate tracks only improves to 15th. Kansas is Bowyer's home track and he has an average finish of 11.50 here over his last 6 races.

Kevin Harvick -135 vs. Ryan Blaney
