Shot of the Week:

I don’t care if this shot isn’t all that miraculous or noteworthy.  It’s hilarious and that’s why it’s the SOTW.  I blogged it on Friday but we’re going with Ben Crane’s drive on the 6th hole during the 2nd round.  Just giving zero fucks, facing an absurd angle on the tee box and launching it over the trees.  When he says, ‘shortcut” after hitting it is just icing on the cake.  Golden Tee golf through and through.  The shot tracker image gets me every time.

I also tweeted about it and the way Crane responded almost made it seem like he thought I was making fun of the decision.  On the contrary.  I couldn’t have been more on board with it.

D.H. Lee hole-in-one on the par-3 17th on Sunday.

Like I said before, this should probably be the SOTW.  Rose birdies the 72nd hole to put himself at -22 and would win him the tournament with AUTHORITY.  That putt misses and it’s way past the hole.  It was right on the money though.

Fan of the Week:

To the victor go the spoils.  Yeah I know Justin Rose is married but who has that ever stopped before?  Exactly.  This young lady was quick to get Rose’s autograph after he stepped off the 18th green after nailing his birdie putt.  Need more of her if we’re being honest.  She looks to have……a great pair of personalities.  Here’s to hoping Rose signed an autograph and left her a key to his hotel room.

Rory dominated in an arm wrestling match by a minor

Just an ICYMI but you probably didn’t since it was everywhere this weekend.  Rory getting crushed in an arm wrestling match against a 17-year-old.  Tough look for the world’s #1.

Rory PGA Tour Game Trailer

This came out a few days ago.  A game trailer for the first-ever Rory PGA Tour after he tomahawk dunked in Tiger’s face and took the game away from him.  Looks DOPE because of course it does. All of these games are awesome.  Maybe not as awesome as the video games ESPN aired last night but still awesome.  Not sure I’ll buy it though.  Once the swing stick got super duper sensitive I kind of gave up on the games because they were hard and I don’t like things where I actually have to try (I’ll probably still buy it).  Tiger Woods 2007 4 Lyfe.

Phil Mickelson withdraws from this week’s WGC-Cadillac Match Play

Just a small bit of news that broke last week.  Mickelson withdrawing from the WGC match play this week for personal reasons.  No idea what that could mean but hopefully everything is alright.

JOHN DALY WATCH

An interesting article came out about our boy JD this week.  You can read it here.  It centers around a weird incident in 2007 where Daly claims to have injured himself when a female fan jumped out in front of him and took his picture while he was swinging.  He says he stopped his swing and in the process broke two ribs and separated his shoulder.  That’s all very interesting of course and very Daly-like.  But the part I found most interesting was this when talking about his John Daly drink mix and how it’s selling

JD is drinking again!  Did I know that?  I honestly don’t think I did.  I know for a fact that I thought he was totally sober.  Not sure how I missed the part where he picked up the sauce again (it’s pretty randomly placed in that article which is weird).  Although one would assume that if a person is selling an alcoholic beverage named after them that they’re probably drinking it.  But still.  It sounds like he’s only drinking a little here and a little there (hopefully he’s able to control it) but I love living in a world where JD is sippin a little booze now and again.  Mostly because I thought those days were long gone.  Does he still drink 80 Diet Cokes a day?  That’s another question I’d like answered.

The hot girl getting Rose’s autograph reminded of the time that SMOKE was following Rory at the Bridgestone.  Her name is Ashely Bongiovanni and she’s fantastic.
