Who Do We Want The Bears To Pick At #7?
I gotta be honest here, guys. I don’t think I’ve ever been less excited for a draft in my life. I know it’s strange considering we have a top 10 pick and we’re the new DRAFT TOWN, but there’s just something about it that’s leaving me very whatever. I think a big factor of this is because the Hawks/Bulls are in the playoffs and the Cubs have finally fielded a solid team for the first time in forever but I digress. Once the countdown for #7 starts ticking I’m sure I’ll be amped up like always.
It’s always hard to predict what direction a team’s going to go in under a new GM because nobody really has a full grasp on them until at least a couple years. Last year we all had a strong idea of what was going to happen but Pace has kept everything so close to his chest and it’s made it very hard to even try to predict. So instead of just sitting here and feeding you a bunch of garbage predictions that you’re going to see everywhere else I’m gonna stay away from that and just tell you what I think they should do.
-The popular pick by all the mocks right now is either Amari Cooper or Kevin White. I hate going WR at #7 and here’s why: I can live with a 2015 season of seeing Jeffery/Wilson/Royal not be enough at the WR position but I CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT live with seeing our defense continuing to play the way they have for the past two years. I just can’t do it.
-I was very against going Nose Tackle for the simple fact that we have four of them but then they announced that Ego and Sutton are now listed as DE. This leaves our NT position with Ray McDonald and Jeremiah Ratliff which is more than solid but it wouldn’t be a horrible idea to get younger. I guess what I’m saying is that I like Danny Shelton but I don’t love him enough to have him at #7.
-So who exactly do I want? That’s a great question considering that every person that I’ve tried to write about here has ended up in controversy. Shane Ray and Randy Gregory were originally my top guys at some point but I don’t if they touch them for the chance that they might get popped rolling blunts at a Gas Depot in Rosemont. I then moved on to Vic Beasley who isn’t wrapped in “risks” like the other two but it allegedly came out yesterday that him and the Bears haven’t had any serious talks which was a little telling in my opinion.
-Alot of people might hate me for this because it seems like I’m being too afraid to dip my nuts in the pool but I’m not gonna name a certain prospect. All I want is whoever in Pace’s eyes is the best defensive end or linebacker available who can make an impact immediately.
-At the end of the day will I truly be upset when we might have the best young WR combo in the league? Of course not because you can never have enough playmakers but for me it’s all about getting Fangio his anchor to hose away all of Mel Tucker’s shit.
Bear Down.
