Stan Van Gundy Needs To Stop Being Such A Buzzkill

Hey Stan....

What kind of shit is this? No shit everyone is overreacting one way or the other after seeing our first live basketball in over 4 months. That's the fun! In a normal NBA season we'd be in Summer League where there is nothing better than overhyping players that almost certainly will not make an impact once the real games start. It's one of the most fun times on the NBA calendar. Every fanbase is drunk off the hype of their young players, filled with hope and aspirations of the unknown. 

I think we all know Bol Bol isn't the savior........but maybe he is! NBA Twitter going crazy during his game yesterday was the most fun I've had on the internet in weeks. If anyone is making concrete judgements about what we're seeing they are simply trying to hard. Pretty much everyone agrees that these games mean nothing, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun with it. I don't get why SVG has such a problem with it. Does he know get that everyone is joking? I know he's new to Twitter so maybe he just doesn't get how it works. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt there.

If SVG is going to be a part of NBA Twitter, he needs to loosen up and little bit and realize 90% of it is jokes. You can't expect fans to be rational after such a long hiatus, that's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. If a young player on your favorite team has a great showing in the scrimmage that means they are destined for greatness. Everybody knows that. If they have a bad outing you immediately disregard it because these games are fake and mean nothing. Those are the rules.

So no Stan, NBA fans will never learn. We will never change. Overreacting and forming positive opinions off meaningless basketball is what we do best and that's how it will be for the rest of time. Maybe lighten up and join us, the water's warm.
