R.I.P. Penguins

10-1-1 in their last 12 against Pittsburgh. 7 of the last 8 playoff matchups Crosby & Co. have been held to just one goal. Erase a 3-1 series deficit last year, then reel off 4 2-1 wins – the last two in OT – to wrap up this year in 5. That’s how you slaughter a species. Here’s your two favorite Penguin-killers:

With the Sens extending the series against the Habs, the rest of the East will be beating each other up for at least another game while the Rangers rest up. Hopefully Klein will be ready in a week for Round 2, and hopefully a week is plenty for our favorite little hobbit to heal up after getting his bell rung.

No news on Zucc yet, but finishing this series early means at the very least no one else will be at risk to get hurt. Fingers crossed that they’ll have all hands on deck for the Caps/Isles, but either way it’s 4 down & 12 to go. VIVA LA BLUESHIRTS!!
