Video: Karen Parks In Parking Spot For Electric Cars, Gets Called Out, Throws Temper Tantrum And Rants About Young People

Source

A viral video shows a woman going on a rant after she was told she couldn’t park her Hyundai in a Tesla parking spot in Toronto, Ontario.

The video was posted to Twitter and Reddit last week. She’s since been dubbed the “Tesla Karen.”

*Disclaimer: this article called her "Tesla Karen" so it is only fair that I do the same*

Saying that this is news to me is a massive understatement. Who could've possibly guessed that you couldn't park in an electric car spot WITHOUT an electric car? Sure, it makes sense and all but I had no prior knowledge that it could lead to such a kerfuffle. Now I know NOT to park in the Tesla spots at the mall.

"The spot looked cool, I didn't realize they'd get mad!" - me after I get beat to a pulp by a Telsa owner

The actual video itself couldn't be more ridiculous. You just knew that we were in for a wild ride as soon as the lady turned to the camera and gave herself a few pats on the keister. I feel like you can tell a lot about a person based on how they react when the cameras come out. Like here, you can clearly tell that this old bag is not a fan of cameras and probably slanders technology any chance she gets.

“You’re disgusting, and I’m so sick of these young people who think they’re all that,”

Well, that and Tesla Karen proceeds to go on a rant about young people and how they've changed for the worse. As a young person, I can confirm that we do not think we're "all that". It's quite the opposite, actually.

This is just textbook old man yells at clouds type behavior. Whenever an older human gets mad about young people, you have to take it with a grain of salt. What it really boils down to is that they had to grow up reading books and shit meanwhile everyone has a portable computer in their pockets nowadays. Hell, I'd be pretty fucking mad too.

The funniest part about the whole thing is the camera standoff. One person recording another. As if they're capturing someone in a despicable act. Tesla Karen even gives her video a selfie intro and everything knowing damn well that she's uploading it directly to her Facebook as soon as she gets home. Not even a slight hesitation.

Tesla Karen might even fuck around and try uploading it on 5G from her car, that's how important this moment is for her. It's her Superbowl. Being involved in a lengthy Facebook argument is like crack for boomers and gen x. They simply cannot get enough of it.

Tesla Karen: "He tries to come and tell me what I can do. He's not my boss"

Officer: "There is a sign"

Tesla Karen: "Oh well sorry, I can't see"

I lied earlier. This is the funniest part of the video. She's off talking to the officer, trying to explain her side when this cop just fucking buries her with a swift "there is a sign". Knowing she was defeated, she INSTANTLY taps into the excuse bank and pulls out a hot "I can't see". You already know that she had that response ready from the moment she was confronted in the first place. A safety blanket if you will. If I was a betting man, I'd say this woman can probably see just fine. But we already knew that.

"Yours goes up, mine goes up"

What a way to make an exit. Well, this version of the video is very much up, now we wait to see hers - not that there's any difference other than her squawking into the microphone. This whole thing just has a real fever dream type vibe to it. How can one video be so outlandish yet accurately depict a society in a matter of 112 seconds? I don't really know either but this video accomplished it.

Tesla Karen is out here making fun of young people but if she had acted like an adult then she wouldn't be in this situation. She could've just owned up to her mistake and moved but no. Tesla Karen had to get her money's worth. Hope it was worth it.
