UMD - The University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University men’s lacrosse teams have collaborated to announce the unveiling of “The Rivalry Trophy.” Serving as a nod to one of the state of Maryland’s most iconic images, the Maryland blue crab, the trophy was made using reclaimed wood from Baltimore, Md., and crafted by Sandtown Millworks. It weighs 25 pounds and measures 32 inches wide and 22 inches tall. The trophy will be awarded annually to the winning team following the regular season contest. Long celebrated as the greatest rivalry in college lacrosse with more than 100 meetings in its history, 2015 marks the first year that Maryland and Johns Hopkins are scheduled to meet as conference foes. The pair collide in their Big Ten Conference regular season finale Saturday, April 25, at 8 pm at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.

It doesn’t get much more Maryland than this. Wouldn’t be shocked if when Maryland wins it they paint it like the flag and sprinkle Old Bay on stop and give the crab a pair of boat shoes to completely finish up the stereotypes. Probably bring it to an OAR concert and have it buy some underage kids some beer too.

Also, the winning team gets to gang bang Mia Khalifa. Fair is fair.
