The Bucks Tried To Bully The Bulls, Game 2 Recap

Well if you thought the Bucks strategy in this series was to run the older Bulls team up and down the court and push the pace you were wrong because last night their entire gameplan was to get the Bulls into a bar fight they never had a chance of winning. It started early in the second when John Henson tried to punk Aaron Brooks, standing over him after he fell.

And a sluggish, lethargic Bulls team that had scored ELEVEN points in the first quarter woke up. I said at the time the Bucks getting Jimmy Butler angry was a bad idea and that proved to be exactly true because he went on to be a man possessed, scoring 26 points the rest of the way and absolutely dominating the game. Listen, I know the Bucks are the Bucks, they’re a nice team that actually has a pretty bright future but this series is not for them. They just don’t have the talent to match up with the Bulls. This isn’t the 2014 Bulls, you can’t double one guy and choke our offense to death, the Bulls finally have 5 pieces they can put on the floor that need attention. At this point the goal is to sweep and get out of this series somewhat healthy before it becomes a literal fight. I’m confident they can do that.

Other Notes

-As for health, the number 1 concern coming out of Game 2 is Niko Mirotic. I joked last night but I’m pretty sure I would ask the doctor to shoot me like a horse if I had this list of ailments. Lets hope none of them are serious because Niko is a key to a series against Cleveland.

-D-Rose – This is the new normal with D-Rose. Inconsistent, stretches of sloppy play mixed in with flashes of old D-Rose, and you know what, that’s ok. This team is deep enough where he doesn’t have to be playing perfect every night. Just the fact that he’s out there meant the Bucks doubled him and left Jimmy Butler open. Anything he gives this team is great.

-Nailed it.

-Dunleavy has been an unheralded component to this series. Great D and shooting 50% from three. We all joked when he went out this year that if Mike Dunleavy is a reason your team is floundering then you have issues, but he really is Mr. Reliable. Won’t get a ton of press but what he brings to this team shouldn’t be under appreciated.

-Missed some pretty good years there man, but hey, who can pass up Bucks/Bulls Round 1 right?

-Zaza should retire from basketball

– Jimmy Butler punk’d me so now I’ll try to fight the white rookie.

-Take out Jimmy Butler last night and the rest of the Bulls shot 33% from the floor, yet they still won by 9, this series should not last longer than 4.

– “Stay Classy Chicago” -some idiot Bucks fan who is upset ONE person threw ONE foam giveaway in Zaza’s directions after his ejection.

-If Niko is hurt, no worries, next man up.
