Senator's "Frozen" Theme Song Ring Tone Goes Off In The Middle Of Hearing
NBC – Do you ever wish you could tell members of Congress to just “let it go”? Well Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) had those words, made famous in the movie “Frozen,” play accidentally when he got a call during a Senate Finance Committee hearing on US Tariff Policy on Thursday.
Roberts apparently forgot to put his phone on vibrate, and the chorus of the Oscar-winning song started playing in the middle of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack’s testimony.
“Ah, come on,” Roberts said as his phone began to ring.
“Just let it go,” he said after muting his device.
Loved the way this guy played off the Frozen ring tone…until I saw the excuse train roll out.
Update: A spokesman from Roberts office said: “Senator Roberts’s ‘Let it Go’ ringtone is for his grandkids. He balances it with Johnny Cash’s ‘I walk the Line.’ He changes depending on the day.”
Oh come on dude. Having an official spokesperson give a comment on this and blaming it on your grandkids? Saying you also totally have Johnny Cash as a ring tone too? Jesus, have some pride. Admit you’re obsessed with Frozen and Elsa is your favorite character and you buy all the Frozen character themed Jelly Bellys at the counters of convenience stores and just be done with it. We’ve had enough of our politicians lying to us sir.
