So after a 20 month wait, and all the hubbub about who started which game to start the year, we’re finally here. Matt Harvey finally back on the bump at Citi Field. Ready to absolutely rip through a horrid Phillies line up. Tonight might be the perfect game we’ve all been waiting for, thats how overmatched Philadelphia is.
Other fans have been giving the Mets fans a hard time about getting excited this early in the season. Worrying about who invented chants and how you can cheer for your team and when you can cheer for you team and all this other too cool for school garbage. Fuck all that. Root for this guy tonight, and every night he takes the mound because the bottom line is Matt Harvey is one of the best pitchers in baseball. He’s one of the most talented, if not the most talented, pitchers in the game. The ONLY thing holding him back is that his career has only been a season and a half long. Thats the only thing Matt Harvey detractors can point to. Its actually comical seeing how much Mets haters rely upon that. “Matt Harvey hasnt done ANYTHING!” “He’s only got 13 career wins!” Completely incapable of looking at what he’s going to accomplish rather than look at a small sample size of what he has already accomplished since he’s only pitched 1 full season in the Big Leagues. It would be like a few years ago talking shit about Mike Trout because he hadnt done anything yet. Have some foresight one time, you morons.
