REMINDER: The Barstool Classic Comes To CogHill On June 25th And You Better Fucking Be There

I don't want to make a big deal out of this but there are a few spots left on the Chicago tour date next Thursday and that kinda really bothers me. People forget Chicago is an A+ golf city and the fact we're 10 days out and there's still spots open is kinda crazy to me. I remember last year we ran back a 50 person putting contest for the last 2 spots and now I'm finding out we may need Eddie and Chief to fill out the last couple groups? I mean come on for fucksake where are my golfers at? One of the most heavily commented things to me in person when I'm out drinking is that you guys want to play Riggs in golf. If I had a nickel for every time one of you guys said that shit to me on the 19th hole or at some outdoor festival or at the Jewels while I'm waiting on my deli meat... if I had one shiny nickel for every request to broker a match between you and Riggs then I'd have a burlap sack packed to the gils with shiny fucking nickels. All you guys do is talk shit and wear white belts, and now is your chance to do both. Come find me on the range giving lessons and possibly hustling long drive contests. I've got 3 bills in me if I can borrow your 9 degree M6. That's a goddamn promise.

Register for the last spots here

Elsewhere, brief acknowledgement that the course changed from Harborside to CogHill's Dubsdread/Ravines. A lot of Chicago guys are disappointed because Harborside is basically the young guy public country club around here. Like if you want good golf in Chicago and you don't want to belong to a club because it's expensive and you're a 26 year old commercial banker, you go to Harborside 16 times a season and you love it. We all do.

But global pandemics and questionable administrative decision making has pushed the tournament clearly out of Chicago and into neighboring Lemont, home to Illinois's #1 public golf course. Save me arguments, Dubsdread is the absolute best of the best and it's astonishing to me that we'll have a formal tournament there. Say what you want about how well maintained your dad's country club is, but Dubsdread is the bad bad boy on the block to me. A lot of people around here even say that if it wasn't for some very unfriendly comments about sandtrap frequency from a certain left-handed superstar, Dubsdread would have gotten a US Open in the 2010's. That's the kind of golf course we're talking about here and it's fucking awesome.

This locally produced video does a great job explaining the rich history & tradition.

Looking forward to seeing you guys on the 25th. I probably need a ride there and back if anyone is heading from Soldiers Field area slide in my DMs please but don't murder me. I think that's a fair ask.
