Dexter Manley Banned From WTOP Radio For Calling Troy Aikman a Queer

Post - This happened during a live appearance around 9:40 a.m., an appearance that had previously been filled with jokes and laughs. Manley — a regular guest on the station — had talked about how the Broncos result made him kick his dogs, and how Peyton Manning makes defenders pee in their pants. He also forgot Kyle Shanahan’s first name; “see, I had this brain surgery, so you’ve got to forgive me,” Manley apologized. The hosts attempted to end the spot with another light-hearted moment. “Was it a big jinx that Troy Aikman was doing the game, the former Cowboy?” Manley was asked at the end of the segment. “I think Troy was a queer,” Manley said. The hosts immediately made it clear that this wasn’t a topic for humor, and encouraged Manley to step back. “I’m sorry about that,” he said. “I take that back….I apologize.”
Holy fake outrage! Mass media is the pussification of the world. Every single time something tiny happens like this the media blows it up 1000x bigger for a quick headline, ruins a guy’s livelihood, and then you never hear about it again. WTOP has Manley on their show because he says absurd shit all the time. Manley made an off the cuff joke about the “rumors” of Aikman liking his butthole tickled. Is the outrage because he used the word “queer”? Because if there is one thing the DC media loves talking about, it is “intent”. Yes, we can compare this to the name “Redskins”. Manley didn’t have malicious intent in calling him a queer. It was like how your grandma still uses the word “coloreds” at Thanksgiving dinner and how the Skins still use the name “Redskins”. There is no need to crucify him for cracking a joke in a comedic setting about a guy Skins fans hate. So enough of this over sensitive, PC bullshit.
